Tallahassee SC to Join the League for Clubs

February 10, 2025

The League is excited to welcome Tallahassee SC to our roster of clubs, where they will play in the South Region in 2025.

Founded in 2018, Tallahassee SC played their inaugural season in 2019 in the Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL), winning the East Division. From 2021-24, the club played in the NPSL’s Gulf Coast Conference, which was renamed the Gulf Coast Sunshine Conference for the 2024 season.

The Battle Lions will play their home matches at Gene Cox Stadium, a 5,500-seat venue that also hosts sporting events for multiple Tallahassee high schools. They will join Sowegans SC, Valdosta FC, AFC Mobile and Union 10 FC in The League’s Gulf Coast Conference in 2025.

"We are excited to join a league created by clubs and for clubs that will allow the Battle Lions to continue to bring the highest level of amateur soccer to Tallahassee. Our players, members and youth partners are all committed to building a sustainable resource for community soccer in Leon County for years to come."

Chris Petley, president of Tallahassee SC

Tallahassee SC is the fifth club to join The League for Clubs’ Gulf Coast Conference, which was formed as a part of a partnership forged with the GCPL. It is expected that between six and 12 clubs will play in the conference in 2025. More announcements should be expected in the near future.
