Pensacola FC & Pensacola FC Academy to join The League for Clubs

February 28, 2025

The League for Clubs (TLfC) is thrilled to welcome both Pensacola FC and Pensacola FC Academy to the Gulf Coast Conference for the 2025 season.

Pensacola FC will play in the East Division of the Gulf Coast Conference and Pensacola FC Academy will play in the West Division.

Founded in 2013, Pensacola FC played in the Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL) from 2017-19 and 2021-22. The club also competed in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) from 2021-24. The Pensacola FC Academy team has played the past two seasons in the GCPL’s Second Division.

“Pensacola FC and Pensacola FC Academy are excited to be part of the inaugural season of The League For Clubs,” said Pensacola FC owner Justin Witkin. “We anticipate that The League will elevate the standards for semi-professional soccer in the Gulf Coast region, offering a top-notch product for fans and experience for the players. We’re also excited to be joined in TLfC by some of our traditional rivals while also having the opportunity to rekindle some of our past rivalries.”

Home matches for both teams will be played at Ashton Brosnaham Stadium. The stadium is a part of Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park, which is one of the premier soccer complexes in the region. The park hosts many elite youth soccer tournaments and matches. Since 2022, it has also been the home of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Women’s Soccer Tournament.

With the announcements of Pensacola FC and Pensacola FC Academy, there are now seven spots that have been confirmed in The League’s Gulf Coast Conference for 2025. This conference was formed as a part of the partnership between TLfC and the GCPL. It is expected that 10 clubs will play in the Gulf Coast Conference in 2025. It will be split into East and West divisions.

Pensacola FC also fields a women’s team that will play in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) in 2025. They won the WPSL National Championship in 2019.
