The League for Clubs (TLfC) is excited to announce the addition of Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC to our Mountain Premier Conference (MPC).
Founded in 2022, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC spent the last three seasons in USL League One, advancing to the playoffs in both 2023 and 2024. They have also had a huge amount of success in cup competitions, winning five matches in three years in the US Open Cup, including two wins over Colorado Switchbacks FC of the USL Championship and one win over MLS side Real Salt Lake. In 2024, the Hailstorm defeated Forward Madison FC to claim their first silverware in club history, the inaugural USL Jägermeister Cup.
“We could not be more excited with the direction of Hailstorm, the academy and the growth of soccer overall at Future Legends,” said Casey Katofsky, Future Legends Executive Director. “We look forward to what the future holds and continuing to build a complete soccer ladder in Northern Colorado.”
The club plays their home matches at 4Rivers Equipment Stadium. The 2,500-seat capacity stadium is at the heart of the Future Legends Complex in WIndsor, Colorado.
“We are pleased to welcome Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC to The League in our inaugural season,” said TLfC Commissioner Casey Cantor. “Their record of success on the pitch speaks for itself. We are excited to learn from them and build with them as we work together toward the common goal of creating a better soccer landscape.”
Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will play in the Mountain Premier Conference, joining two other clubs announced today, Peak XI FC and CFA Aurora FC. This conference was made possible by a partnership between TLfC and the Mountain Premier League (MPL). The partnership will allow MPL teams to compete at a regional level and be promoted into the MPC and have a chance to compete for a national championship in The League. This system of promotion and relegation is expected to begin in 2026.
