The League for Clubs (TLfC) is proud to announce the addition of Gulf Coast United FC for the 2025 season. GCUFC is the eighth confirmed team that will play in the Gulf Coast Conference this summer.
Founded in 2003 and based out of the city of Gulfport, Gulf Coast United FC has been a cornerstone of soccer development in South Mississippi. The club emphasizes growth in the community through soccer by fostering an environment that promotes discipline, sportsmanship and character. GCUFC also has a great track record when it comes to its players landing on college rosters.
"Joining The League for Clubs (TLfC) in 2025 is a huge step forward for Gulf Coast United FC,” said GCUFC Director of Coaching Oleg Chickanov. “This national-level exposure provides our players—especially the younger generation—an incredible platform to showcase their talent, compete at a higher level, and open doors to future opportunities in the game. We’re excited to continue growing the sport on the Gulf Coast and giving our players the development they deserve."
GCUFC plays its home matches at Herbert Wilson Stadium in Gulfport, MS. Better known as “The Herb,” it is the only soccer-specific high school stadium in the state of Mississippi. The club most recently played in the Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL), finishing second in the West Division in 2024.
The Gulf Coast Conference was created through a partnership agreement between TLfC and the GCPL. Ten clubs are slated to play in this conference in 2025, Sowegans SC, Valdosta FC, AFC Mobile, Union 10 FC, Tallahassee FC, Pensacola FC, Pensacola FC Academy, Gulf Coast United FC and two more clubs that will be officially unveiled soon.
